About Us

Lisa received her undergraduate degree in Child Development from Meredith College in Raleigh, NC and her master’s degree in special education from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. She holds teaching credentials in K-6 Early Childhood Education, K-12 Learning Disabilities, Birth-Kindergarten certification, and Infant and Toddler certification. During her 25-year career in education, she has served as a kindergarten classroom teacher, cross categorical resource teacher, self-contained classroom teacher, assessment team teacher, infant toddler specialist, autism specialist with Easter Seals and Triple P practitioner. Lisa has extensive training and experience in applying behavior strategies, including those specifically targeting behaviors associated with autism spectrum disorder.

Lisa is dedicated and passionate about working with young children and families to address each child’s unique developmental needs and addressing these needs through interventions, strategies, and up to date educational resources to help each child grow, learn, socialize and become more independent. Navigating the special education process and understanding developmental expectations can be challenging and confusing. Lisa’s extensive experience, background and knowledge of child development, special education, autism spectrum disorder and atypical behaviors allows her to creatively address delayed development and parental concerns by providing sample goals, strategies, interventions, workstations, picture schedules, communication boards and social and play models. Helping parents better understand child development and the special education process allows parents to advocate for their child and make educated decisions about their child’s development.



Julia received her undergraduate degrees psychology and global studies from Alverno College, WI and her master’s degree in exceptional children education from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. During her 24-year career in a field of special education, she worked across various states and school system across the country as a special education teacher, administrator, and a member of an assessment team. Julia’s main focus has always been early childhood special education/preschool services. She has led many staff developments and presented at universities and community colleges regarding on a wide range of topics, including writing a quality IEP, early childhood assessment, cultural competence of early childhood services, working with families and children with diverse needs.

Julia is very passionate about working with families of children age 2-5 as they navigate through the journey of assessing their child’s unique needs and addressing these needs through the most appropriate interventions of the medical and educational model of service to help unlock and maximize each individual child’s developmental and learning potential. Julia mission has always been to prove families with the accurate and honest information about their child’s developmental needs, clarifying areas in need for interventions and developmentally appropriate expectations, and discussing appropriate services in the context of early intervention and preschool are fundamentally important in helping parents develop deeper understanding of how best help their child.
